Monster Nursing
Monster.com asked us to create a series of landing pages customized for popular careers. The first one? Nursing. We started by listening to nurses—interviewing them, building personas, and white-boarding ideas to understand what would help them most. This eventually became an easy-to-use robust hub with engaging tools and ways to find jobs that were relevant to wherever they were in their career journey.
But the most interesting part? We started this in Fall of 2019, and launched in May 2020, making this maybe one of my most timely projects ever.
ROLE: Content Lead
Our Process
This project required a whole team effort from account, dev, content, UX & UI design, and strategy. Ultimately we built an experience that featured a nursing specialty quiz, speciality subpages with tons of day-to-day details, and nursing specific articles. We also focused on the KPI’s: account creations, application starts, and lead gens. Below is a quick glimpse into how it all went down.
Interviews & Personas
We talked to dozens of nurses, and distilled it into three personas at different career stages.
User Journeys & Features
From there, we mapped out a user journey based on need states and brainstormed tools.
Bringing it to Life
We set a content hierarchy, built a speciality quiz, and aggregated existing content.
Find Your Fit Quiz
Our pièce de résistance was the “find your fit” quiz—-four questions on workplace elements like teamwork, routine, and more. At the end of the quiz, you were matched with your best specialty (i.e, ER, cardiac, ICU, etc) fit, along with helpful information about the speciality.
Speciality Detail Pages
From the emergency room to the ICU, nursing has many different fields and specialities available. But there’s a lack of online resources that give you everything you would need to know. Our subpages give the day-to-day details, required qualifications, advice from real-life nurses, and much more. This idea and type of content was brought up across the board in our interviews.
